Prime Video adds 138 movies in September 2026. Fifty-nine landed on September 1, another 34 arrived on September 7, and the rest trickled in between. The Silence of the Lambs has the highest IMDb score and the most votes, The Thing and The Great Escape sit just behind it, and the back half of the list splits into a horror run (three Purge films, House of 1000 Corpses and its sequel, The Thing) and a shelf of westerns and war films from the 1950s and 1960s. Only four titles leave all month, Filth first, on September 9.

Every title below is live on Prime Video in the US, and the full shelf updates daily on the Prime Video what-to-watch page.

The highest IMDb score of the month and the most-voted arrival on TMDB. An FBI trainee is sent to interview a caged psychiatrist so the Bureau can catch a serial killer somewhere in Virginia, and the interviews become the film. Three principal characters, one basement, and a night-vision scene that still works.

2. The Thing (1982)

Landed today, September 7, with the second-highest IMDb score of the month. An American research station in Antarctica takes in a sled dog from the Norwegian camp next door and finds out what the Norwegians were shooting at. A shapeshifter, a blood test, and a crew that cannot trust the man beside them. Practical effects that have not aged, and the best-reviewed horror arrival on Rotten Tomatoes after Don't Breathe.

3. The Great Escape (1963)

4. Raging Bull (1980)

129 min · IMDb 8.1 · RT 92 · Metascore 90 · September 1

If you only have one night for the two classics up here, take this over The Great Escape. Higher Metascore, and 44 minutes shorter.
