Hulu adds 30 movies in September 2026, led by 12 Angry Men, Inglourious Basterds and Fargo. Ten landed on the first of the month and 19 more in one drop on September 5, the Creed trilogy among them. Another 23 titles leave before the end of the month, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood and Guy Ritchie's The Covenant among them.

1. 12 Angry Men (1957)

The best-reviewed arrival of the month, and it is not close: a 100 on Rotten Tomatoes and a 97 Metascore, with an 8.6 on TMDB from 10,286 votes behind it. A jury room, a murder charge, the death penalty on the table, and one juror who will not vote guilty yet. Based on the play, and nearly all of it happens in one room.
2. Inglourious Basterds (2009)

Occupied France in the Second World War. A squad of Jewish-American soldiers hunts Nazis behind the lines, a resistance plot runs through Paris, and the two meet at the end. Guerrilla warfare, and a lot of talking before the violence.
3. Fargo (1996)

Minnesota in winter. A car salesman drowning in debt hires two men to kidnap his wife so his rich father-in-law will pay the ransom, and the plan comes apart almost immediately. The police follow the bodies from North Dakota back to Minnesota. Dark comedy on top of a crime story.
4. Coraline (2009)

The best of the September 1 batch. A girl finds a small door in her family's new house, and on the other side is a better version of her life run by a mother with buttons for eyes. Stop-motion, based on the novel, and pitched as horror for children, talking cat included.
5. Thelma & Louise (1991)

Two friends leave for a weekend trip, a killing in self-defense in Arkansas turns it into a run down the highway with the police a step behind, a robbery along the way, and the Grand Canyon at the end. Road movie, crime. The second-highest Metascore of the month, behind only 12 Angry Men.
6. Creed (2015)

Rocky Balboa comes back as a trainer for Adonis Johnson, son of his old rival Apollo Creed. Philadelphia gyms, underground fights in Mexico, and a cancer diagnosis in the corner. Landed on September 2, three days before its two sequels, and its 95 on Rotten Tomatoes ties Fargo.
7. The School of Rock (2003)

A guitarist fired from his own band fakes his way into a substitute teaching job at a private elementary school and turns the class into a rock band for a battle of the bands. Comedy with an actual concert at the end. A 92 on Rotten Tomatoes for a family film.
8. Creed II (2018)

The sequel. Los Angeles this time, and the challenger is a fighter whose family history is tangled up with his own, so the rivalry gets settled overseas. Critics cooled from the first film, from 95 to 83.
9. The Bob's Burgers Movie (2022)

A water main bursts and a sinkhole opens in front of the restaurant, which kills the summer. Bob and Linda fight to keep the place open while the kids work a crime scene at the carnival next door. Based on the TV series, with a stinger after the credits.
10. Sixteen Candles (1984)

A sixteenth birthday that the whole family forgets because of her sister's wedding. A crush on an older boy, a nerd who will not go away, an exchange student, and a borrowed convertible. High school comedy from 1984, and the shortest film in the top ten.

An outsider marries into the Gucci family and the marriage comes apart in public, then in court. Based on the true story, and at 158 minutes the longest arrival of the month.

A tech billionaire, a private island facility, and first contact. A 2026 science fiction release with only 43 votes so far.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). 129 min · RT 47 · Adventure, Action, Thriller · September 1.
The island's volcano erupts, the rescue mission is for the dinosaurs, and the genetic engineering plot takes the series off the island for good.

A ghost therapist and his teenage daughter move into a haunted mansion in Maine, and the one friendly ghost in the building falls for the daughter. Based on the comic.

Teenage hackers in 1995 New York, a computer virus, and the Secret Service on their tail. A 34 from critics, and it plays like a time capsule now.

A doctor, a nurse and a lawyer witness a murder in the 1930s, get framed for it, and pull on a thread that leads to a political conspiracy. Period mystery played partly for comedy.

An interracial couple buy their first house in California, and the LAPD officer next door disapproves of them. A neighbor thriller, not a horror film.

Romeo and Juliet with garden gnomes, the feud running across a fence between two neighbors. Animated.

An Afghan interpreter drags a wounded US sergeant across enemy ground, and the sergeant goes back when the promised visa never comes. Watch this before Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood: 39 minutes shorter, both past 80 on Rotten Tomatoes, and it leaves nine days earlier.
